Wigan Sports Club’s event, “The Ale Run”, has raised more than £200 for Men Matter. Saturday 5th January saw the first WSC-organised event of the new year, following the news that Wigan Sports Club have pledged to support our cause for the next two years. “The Ale Run” began at the CAMRA award-winning West Riding Refreshment Rooms on Platform 2 at Dewsbury train station. The team then took the train back home to Wigan, stopping off at every station on the way to visit some of the best pubs in the region and sample some of the finest real ales available in the North West. His work has been recognised worldwide, and he has been awarded the St. Peter’s Medal for contributions to UK Urology. Sir Peter Fahy

Sir Peter Fahy serves as the Chief Constable of Greater Manchester Police, and has previously held the Chief Constable’s position with Cheshire Constabulary. He is widely respected in his field, having been tipped for the position of Metropolitan Police Commissioner, as well as receiving a knighthood for his services to policing in June 2012.
