Of his reasons for supporting the appeal, Barry says, “Both my father and grandfather died of prostate cancer… the more we can publicise the male cancers the more likely men are to pass information on to each other.”

Men Matter would like to thank the staff at the Revolution Bar, Deansgate Locks, Manchester who raised £1000 for Men Matter by growing moustaches throughout November 2010. Also to VOSA (the Vehicle and Operating Services Agency) who held a fundraising event and raised £332 for the appeal.

Men Matter offer their thanks this group of cyclists from the McBride company in Middleton and rider Simon Gasse, who took part in the Manchester to Chester bike ride on Sunday 11th July 2010.
GAP Trafford Centre organised a Father’s Day event and invited us along to promote Men Matter. Thanks to the GAP staff who supported our team brilliantly on the day. GAP matched all donations made on the day, meaning a total of £1,000 was raised.
Andrew Herd and friends raised £5,600 for Men Matter by taking part in a 50-mile walk. Andrew said, “I am pleased everyone in our group achieved their targets with some surpassing them. All of us are enormously grateful for everyone’s fantastic generosity.”
We were proud of all the runners who took part in the BUPA 10k in May to raise money for Men Matter. Runners Ruth Jenyon (left) and Phil Wheat (right) raised £750 and £600 respectively.
